WHAT IS AEROPRESS ?
The AeroPress Championship is a competition that brings together coffee professionals and enthusiasts to showcase their brewing skills, creativity, and knowledge of coffee. Competitors use the AeroPress coffee maker to prepare the best-tasting cup of coffee within a limited time. Success in the competition depends on a deep understanding of coffee beans, grind size, water temperature, brewing techniques, extraction, and flavor balance. It is a celebration of coffee expertise, innovation, and passion, where participants continuously experiment to create unique and exceptional brews.

No matter your experience level, come brew, compete, and be part of the AeroPress community in Qatar
Competitor Eligibility
To participate in the Qatar AeroPress Championship, competitors must:
* Be 18 years of age or older.
* Hold a valid Qatar Residence Permit (QID).
* Purchase a Competitor Ticket to secure their entry.
* Have experience as a barista or possess a basic understanding of specialty coffee and brewing.
HOW TO REGISTER AS COMPETITOR
To participate in the Qatar AeroPress Championship,
please complete the following steps:
1. Purchase a Competitor Ticket.
2. Complete the online registration form with all required information.
3. Read and agree to the official competition rules and regulations.
4. Receive your registration confirmation by email or message.
5. Bring your Competitor Ticket and a valid Qatar ID (QID) on the day of the event for check-in.
6. Attend the competitor briefing before the competition begins.
• You get only 5 minutes to brew & present coffee.
• Judges taste coffees blindly.
• Coffee is served in identical cups.
• Judges point to their favourite brew simultaneously.
• If there's a tie, the Head Judge decides the winner.
COMPETITION FORMAT
• Only genuine AeroPress Original or
Clear allowed.
• AeroPress Go, XL & Premium are
NOT allowed.
• Maximum coffee dose: 20g
• Minimum final drink: 150ml
• Only coffee & water can be used
• Any filter material is allowed
• Missing the 5-minute limit = disqualification.
Brewing Rules
Allowed:
• Grinders, kettles, scales, sifters, timers & accessories.
• Bypass water & ice.
• Pre-weighing beans before competition time.
Not Allowed:
• Other brewing devices like V60, French
Press, Syphon etc.
• Disturbing another competitor during brewing.
• Pre-grinding coffee before timer starts
• Switching regions after registering in one.
WHAT YOU CAN & CAN'T DO
JUDGING + IMPORTANT NOTES
* Judges must remain fair, impartial, and professional at all times.
* All coffees should be evaluated blind, without knowing the competitor’s identity whenever possible.
* Score each cup based only on taste, balance, sweetness, acidity, body, and overall impression according to the competition rules.
* Do not discuss scores or competitors with other judges during the competition.
* Any conflict of interest must be declared before judging begins.
* Follow the official competition schedule and instructions from the Head Judge.
* Arrive at least 30 minutes before the judges’ briefing.
* Ensure all score sheets are completed clearly and submitted immediately after each round.
* Respect all competitors equally and maintain confidentiality throughout the event.
* The Head Judge’s decision is final regarding judging procedures and any disputes.
